The Institute of Vehicle Concepts of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) has organised the WerkstoffPlus Auto symposium for the 15th time on 19 and 20 February 2025 in Stuttgart.

Review of the WerkstoffPlus Auto 2025

The 2025 conference focused on the sustainability and recyclability of materials and construction methods in the automotive sector. Every year, the conference and accompanying exhibition bring together participants from vehicle technology, the supplier industry, mechanical engineering and science. The presentations focus on applications of extremely lightweight and sustainable material composite structures, conversion paths to energy-reduced production processes in industry, through to the use of locally sourced wood for structures in vehicle construction, and they also provide an outlook on future technologies and processes that will enable resource efficiency and substitution, the circular economy and the digitalization of linked value chains. DLR also provides insights into current research projects and innovative technologies. In this way, it promotes the transfer to industrial implementation.
